When surveying the metro Atlanta commercial real estate industry, the founders of the Atlanta Commercial Group concluded that in the commercial marketplace there are basically two types of commercial brokerages, and there is a need for a more universal commercial brokerage.
On one hand, there are the large national brokerage firms with in town offices that service regional or national clients and most property types. These organizations are not generally open and cooperative with other brokers in the market and they tend to focus mainly in urban centers and prefer large transactions while ignoring smaller opportunities, and the suburbs and outlying areas.
On the other hand, there are smaller commercial brokerages, some in town, some suburban, that focus either in a geographic area or specialize in providing service to a specific commercial property type. These brokerages compete with the large firms because they are focused in one specific area of real estate. While they are generally more open than the big firms, they do not have a network reach outside their base of expertise and therefore don’t provide a full range of services to their clients.
